Thanks for all your input. I just thought of posting the question as I have a friend that can get me Phenolphtaline (FREE), but they had a baby and were off work. This is why I posted the question. Now, atleast I know if I have trouble I can try phenol red as a substitute. however, I might do an experiment just to try it as there are 2 conflicting replys here.
