To Advance or Retard? That is the Question..

Hi guys Been pondering a bit over differing advice read on this forum as to timing adjustments for diesel engines.

So for Biodiesel to advance or retard and how much??

and SVO in a two tank setup adv or retard and how much??

The reason for the changes to timing are supposed to be for allowing the fuel to burn more efficiantly etc etc??

I plan on experimenting myself on the inline pump merc with timing and fuel delivery rates.

Im after All advice/discussion/ideas welcome.
what have others tried? run now? and have heard?
