Phenolpthalein question Hi all,
I've been playing with BD for a few years now with varying results. Sure, the Landcruiser runs fine on the product after it has had a thorough washing and settling period but the biggest bug bear I have is, as always, getting reliable titration result.
I,ve been using a good quality electronic PH meter and a heated magnetic stirrer and have found that I am unable to get consistent titration that translates to a complete reaction with passable results.
I have come to the conclusion that I should try Phenolpthalein indicator and see if this will give me more accuracy with my results.
I've contacted some of the scientific suppliers here in Sydney and I have discovered that Phenolpthalein comes in all sorts of configurations, i.e 1% in ethanol, 0.5% in ethanol, L.R grade, etc. My questions are, What should I use? Where is the best place to get it here in Sydney. What should I be paying for it, I was quoted $36.00 for 100m of the 1% in ethanol solution plus $22.50 delivery. Is this what I should be paying?
Any tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated
Thanks
