Re: by product/ glycerine

Doesn't Burning bio by product Glycerin make lots of noxious and poisonous smoke and gasses? I have caught a whiff of it and it sure dosen't smell like anything too friendly to me.

This is the gas I believe glycerin burning gives off:

Health risks

Acrolein is a severe pulmonary irritant and lacrimating agent. It has been used as a chemical weapon during World War I. It is, however, not outlawed by the Chemical Weapons Convention. Acrolein is also a metabolite of the chemotherapy drug cyclophosphamide, and is associated with hemorrhagic cystitis. Skin exposure to acrolein causes serious damage. Acrolein concentrations of 2 ppm are immediately harmful. Acrolein is a suspected human carcinogen.[6] [7] In October 2006, researchers found connections between acrolein in the smoke from tobacco cigarettes and the risk of lung cancer.[8]

People get all concerned about meth fumes but this stuff seems a whole load more dangerous to me!

As you don't make Biodiesel Tony, Do you have to buy the glycerin you get as well as your oil?
