  • LandRover 2001 Defender 130 TD5

    g'day,

I've been using my homebrew in my LandRover Defender for approx. 1year.. I have had a variety of mixes of fuel, from B100 to B(not very much). I have hardly noticed any difference in performance or fuel economy...

I gather that later models of TD5 and the new TDV6 LandRovers state in their owner manuals that these models are not compatible with biodiesel.

    life is good on biodiesel...

    regards,

    biodiesel bob.

    Hi Biodiesel Bob,
Good to see other land rover owning people running their vehicles on biodiesel.

I have a defender 130 (dual cab ute) as well however mine is a 1998 model and has the previous motor the 300tdi.

Mine runs absolutely brilliantly on biodiesel!

    Cheers,
    Cameron

      Hi Bob,

I have a 2000 Td5 D110 and there is nothing in the manual aboout fuel
other than the sulphur ppm required.

The only thing I have heard is that owners who have asked LRAust
about biodiesel have been told that it would void the warranty.
I suppose that is as good as saying no?

I think LRA are missing a great opportunity here, the LR 4x4 fleet
has the highest proportion of diesel engines in their lineup,
they could use this to turn their gasguzzling large 4x4 image
into a "green" image. They all have bowsers at their service centres,
      they could even distribute it.

      regards,
      Matthew
