  • Biodiesel Reactor Pump

    G’day mates,
I have not yet received the biodiesel book “The Biodiesel Homebrew Guide” but after looking at a lot of biodiesel reactors online, built from electric water heaters, I thought I would grab some bits and pieces while I have access to them, like an electric water heater (250L) and a pump, the pump is actually a pretty powerful 7000LPH pond/waterfall pump and I have included some specs below.
Perhaps some of you experienced biodiesel makers can shed some light on the suitability of this pump for the job… I thought about using this pump for biodiesel as I have a spare one (for my stream, waterfall and pond water garden) sitting in my shed and I have access to another… at a good price… but if the pump is not suitable then I don’t need to buy a third one .

    Pump Specs’:
Can be used submerged or inline
    Pumps 7000 Litres P/H at a maximum 5M Head
    10 Meter Electrical Cable
    200Watt
    MAX Height 5.0M
    Inlet: 37MM. 1.5"
    Outlet: 25MM. 1"
    Dimensions 269 X 126 X 206MM
    Weight Approx 3KG
ABS Plastic Case is anti-acid, anti-alkali and anti-corrosive.
The motor is high quality resin sealed to never leak electricity.

So what do you think! Is this pump suitable for making biodiesel?
    Cheers mates,
    Bill… Kando… If you’re not sure…Don’t do it!
