  • Making soap - spill on BBQ

    Hi there,

I was making some soap today, using the BBQ for heat and all of a sudden, the thing overflowed and I ended up with a heap of the foam and froth on the hot plate. I ended up with a really clean hotplate, but can anyone tell me whether this will be safe to cook on again, or any precautions I should take before I cook on it again. I just hosed it off.

    Cheers, Steve.

It's just soap and the components of it are quite safe.

I was cleaning all the oil spills from around the concrete of my BBQ that I use as a big table for filtering the other day. I wet everything down and sprinkled some KOH around. I gave it a bit of a scrub with a soft household broom and left it a while.

Came back and washed it off and the only problem was that it left a big white patch on the concrete from being so clean!
