  • How hot can dino get?

Hello.. I am somewhat confused by the occasional reference to heated diesel (when run through WVO H/E's) loosing its lubricating properties.

Would not diesel running through an IP under normal operating conditions (ie 'hot' engine bay/IP) reach roughly the same temperature as diesel passing through H'E's (especially coolant type) ?

maybe, if you take a temp reading at the injectors it gets hot, 70 + C, RU thinking of running diesel through a heater exchange?

Was just wondering what would happen to diesel if it was run through the WVO system, should the need arise to fill up the WVO tanks with diesel. Unless the system allowed the turning off of the h/e's, then the diesel would be heated prior to the IP and would, according to some, lose its lubricating properties. At what temperatures does this effect become sigificant for diesel?
What would the 'normal' diesel temperature in an unmodified system?

        Hi,

If you ever have to fill up the wvo tank with diesel and run the diesel through the heat exchangers simply add some wvo " 2 litres " will do.

        What you guys think?

As little as 5% veggie in a tank of diesel will provide a major increase in lubricity of the diesel.

My preference would be for Canola oil, but other members may prefer other oils.
