Most vegetable oils are reasonable lubricants when liquid. Diesel is not a very good lubricant, LSD and ULSD have even poorer lubrication than diesel.
Canola and Caster oil have both been used as the basis for lubricating oils.
It has been said that the addition of 5 % or less biodiesel to LSD will improve its lubricative properties far beyond that of diesel.
Vegetable oil is a better lubricant than biodiesel.
