For your information, Goodyear Engineered Products are now bringing in to the country their new Flexwing Versafuel hose. Versafuel was specifically developed in the USA to handle biodiesel blends in fuel transfer applications. It will handle diesel, biodiesel blends, B-100, ethanol blends, oil and petroleum based products up to 60% aromatic content.
Most fuel transfer hoses in the market today will handle the transfer component of the application (the tube), but will find premature degradation to the cover as they do not have resistance to biodiesel.
With this in mind the Versafuel hose has a special compound used in the cover, that has superior resistance to these new blends, and will last a lot longer in the application.
The hose has a wire helix in the reinforcement therefore can be used in suction and discharge applications.
I hope this may help solve any premature hose failures people are experiencing using biodiesel fuels.
