  • BD in colder climates

Hi, thanks to all those who replied to my last post.

The Dr Pepper wash method (fanta) worked a real treat for my 1 litre samples, thanks for the advise.

My next question is " do I have to leave the washed samples outside in an open container in the sun to dry", I live in Hobart were the average winter day temp is around 10 - 13 degrees and not always sunny, what about bugs and dust contamination. Can drying be done indoors Ie, garage?.

Question 2: Im concerned about BD clouding, I sat a sample jar of washed and dryed BD outside at an average over night temp of around 1 - 4 degrees and was not suprised to find a clouded mess in the morning.

This soon rectified itself with 15 seconds in the microwave. HOW CAN I AVOIDE THIS HAPPENING IN MY TANK AND CLOGGING MY FILTER??? are there any additives that can help lower the cloud point? will metho help?

Question 3: Is it recommended to filter washed and dryed BD prior to putting it into your tank? if so how?

    Thanks Andrew.
