Re: "Who Killed the Electric Car?"

    G'day Magda,

Saw the movie and loved it ! Very provocative and interesting. Although to be fair it is very biased and lacks any real objectivity. Electric cars have not failed to gain popular support because of a sinister plot by the dark forces of auto-manufacturers and 'big oil'. Basically, the electric car failed because it failed to meet the needs and appeal of it's competitors. Consumers just didn't want to buy it. Mass produced cars need mass consumers. GM doesn't care less what fuel a car runs on as long as it will sell in volume. That's why the Hybrid sells, it's not radically different and fulfills the aspirations and buying motivations of it's owners. Nor is electric necessarily that green, it depends on what type fuel the power station uses, battery disposal etc..

But still an interesting movie.Thank you for posting the information
