Hi AllHas anyone seen the Biodiesel in NZ site, http://www.biodieselmaking.co.nz/index.html, where owner has obviously set up an Appleseed reactor but he talks about adding straight methanol to the oil as well as sulphuric and phosphoric acid and he also talks about heating the oil whilst adding NaMethoxide which sounds dangerous to me. I am a newbie to making biodiesel and am trying to sort out the wheat from the chalf so I would appreciate any advice offered. Thanks Paul in Darwin.

Re: Biodiesel in NZ.
I've purchased and used these instructions for quite a while now and received excellent results every time. The chemicals you mention are not used haphazard but to advance differrent processes. I'd suggest you perhaps attempt at least one biodiesel making process before asking questions in a diminishing manner.

Hello Pestie
This procedure at the site you linked to is Aleks Kac's "Foolproof Method" #3.
More commonly refered to as the Foolproof Joke or Foolproof Disaster.
Crapola pretty well sums up this particular procedure.Last edited by tillyfromparadise; 16 May 2008, 07:27 PM.
