  • Visitor Messages function in User Profile

Tonight I decided to check my profile out and found I have 10 messages displayed there.
This was the first I knew of these messages and I have not been advised by email or other means or their posting.

Can all forum members please check their own USER CP "Visitor Messages" section to see if they have also missed messages left for them.

Why do we have 2 totally different message systems?
Is this function actively used by members?
If not, can it be disabled or changed to a link to the PM section?

I know that there are at least 10 people who sent me messages without receiving a reply. If I had been notified ot the messages, I would have replied.

I hope I am the only one to have these messages.

    Regards,
    Tony

There are also a number of options in the control panel to control when and from whom you will receive messages.

Probably worth checking thos as well.

Re: Visitor Messages function in User Profile

      Geoff,
      Thank you.
I did find that Visitor Messages were enabled on my User CP Options page.

I have now disabled Visitor Messages on my Profile pages.

Unless you regularly view your Visitor Messages, I recommend that all members disable Visitor Messages to avoid a build up of unanswered messages for them.

      Tony
