  • Canola prices on the rise

    See the ABC site.

One of the benefits of BD in Australia is that much of our spending on fuel for transport no longer goes overseas to some already oil-rich country, but stays in Australia and supports better commodity prices for Australian farmers. But it seems that this demand is starting to have an impact on supply with much of our canola crop being exported to meet European demand! I wonder if some Gov't bureaucrat is going to approve the importing of Indonesian Palm Oil, while we sell off our Canola?

Probably nothing wrong with that as long as we get more for the canola than what we pay for the palm oil.

Knowing the way twits in power work though, it will most likely be the other way round!
