      Re: Plastic to Oil

SmithW, there have been a lot of "Black Diesel" products around since diesels were first put into service.
No need to pay $$ for anything but a filter.
Blend it with diesel at up to 20% and not notice the difference.
Some engines will happily use it at 100% black diesel.

      Regards,
      Tony

        Re: Plastic to Oil

I don't think this is black diesel, as it look to be a plans for a back yard refinery as there is only a 50% conversion rate and you have to dispose of the ash. maybe I should of put this link on Free Diesel instead I was in a hurry when i last posted. Me Thinks that plastic diesel would be the same sort of process. I would like to buy the plans one day but I would need some where to run the thing as I live in suburbia and the neighours proably wouldnt be to happy about a back yard oil still belching smoke and stinking up the place threatening to explode at any minute, sounds like fun though.....

          Re: Plastic to Oil

I am curious as to how they do it, not keen to fork out $150 without actually knowing what is involved. I looked into it and it looks like it may be some sort of filtration ion exchange setup, that would explain the fact that no gas or electricity is required, also that once setup it is a continuos process. What always makes me think twice is that there is nobody who can vouch for this and who has actually built it.

I did find the website for the japanese company that converts plastic back to oil.

          神奈川県平塚市廃プラスチック油化装置のブレスト

I am more interested in this process. Seems to good to be true.
