    Hello scotty

The main additive required would be a diesel engine.

Scotty, I'm not sure where East TN is, as we are Australian in here. You may not have noticed that you are in an Australian forum. I'd be guessing you are from the US. That's OK, we won't hold that against you.
In Australia Ford only make a Taurus in a petrol engine (I think you'd call that "gas", where we would say that "gas' means a gas like propane or natural gas is used). So to cut out the confusion caused by incorrect terminology, Tilly is right - if it has a diesel engine in it, then it can run biodiesel with no additives. If it has a petrol (or "gas" as you say) engine, then you cannot use biodiesel, or diesel either. Your best bet would be ethanol.
      Robert.
