I had the same problem a while ago. I spent hours resizing, etc. and just gave up.

        Hi Craig,

I've tried to load a 12k and a 3k jpg files using the attachments tool and also get the same message - "This is not a valid image file".

I'm using Mac OS 10.6.x and Safari browser

I'll move this thread to the admin forum for further comment.

Are you able to load your image to an external web address and use the "insert image' command?

Re: Is there something wrong with file uploads to the forum ?

I don't stop by here often these days, but I'm keen to know of any probs so I can fix 'em.

I've just tried uploading an image myself and it failed. I'll run around to the back of the site and see if I can find the reason.

Sorry boys & girls, but this feature really does seem to be properly broken at the server end - it's not anything on your computers. I'll need some time to pick apart the code and talk to the hosting provider and see where the issue is. I'll do this over the next few days. I'll report back in here when it's fixed.

Re: Is there something wrong with file uploads to the forum ?

Right... I think I've fixed it. I can't believe it's taken this long for anyone to notice this as I think this problem existed since I moved this site to new hosting last July. I anyone has any problems with things like this again, please let me know so I can fix it.

                    Image attached to test.

I also noticed that the youtube button was missing its image, so I fixed that too.

                      Thanks Robert,

Maybe we wondered if it was our incompetence, then made a work around; like we do with our conversions
