| Land Rover Freelander for sale (runs great on B100) Well, the time has finally come to let go of my Freelander. The lease is up at the end of this month. I'll probably just trade it in when I get my new car (model still undecided), but to save the dealers ripping me off on the trade-in and to offer the car to someone who appreciates biodiesel properly, I thought I'd post a message in here. Here is the redbook price guide for it: Quote:
I'd be happy for a private sale at $12,500 to a forum member. It has just under 100,000kms on it and I've owned it since new (well, it was a demo model actually). It's always been regularly serviced and properly looked after. The extras it has are as follows:
If anyone is interested, please let me know. I know there was a forum member last year who was interested in buying it, but unfortunately, the timing was not right then. I'd rather it went to a biodiesel person who appreciates it, rather than a dealer who uses it as an excuse to give me a lousy deal on a new car.

| Re: Land Rover Freelander for sale (runs great on B100) Well, if you did want this, you'll have to be quick. I've just bought a new car (Mazda 6 Diesel) and have traded it in. They've given me the top of the recommended trade-in red book range - $11,500, but my finance owes $12,000 on it, so I'm still $500 short. As you can see, the private sale value is much higher, so if I can get to $12,000, I'd be happy. However, you've only got a couple of weeks until the new car is ready and I've traded the old car in. If anyone wants this for $12k now, better grab it, as you'd be paying significantly more for a car like this elsewhere.

| Re: Land Rover Freelander for sale (runs great on B100) Robert, Have you sold or traded in the Freelander? If not, I am interested in test driving it and discussing a sale with you. Thanks for your response. Regards, Michael (Texans downunder) |

| Re: Land Rover Freelander for sale (runs great on B100) Hey Robert, I haven't heard back from you regarding whether your Freelander is still available so I am checking again before I go and buy a used one and convert it to biodiesel. I would much rather go through you and a "tested" Freelander. Regardless, as this will be my first time running on a car on biodiesel, I will be using this forum to help me through the process...it is such a great resource! Please let me know. Thanks. | Re: Land Rover Freelander for sale (runs great on B100) Damn... I knew that would happen! It got traded in just 2 days before you posted this - doh! Sorry Michael, if you'd've been a couple of days earlier, this may have been possible, but sadly not. If you want to test drive it, it is currently at the 2nd hand Mazda dealer in North Parramatta. I reckon that they'll probably now try to sell it for $18k, which seems to be the current asking price of this vehicle at dealers at the moment. If you are going to get a Freelander, make sure you get the TD4 engine, not the L-Series. The TD4 (2001 onwards I think) is the common rail one (made by BMW) and the L-Series is a direct injection Ford engine with not quite the same power and economy. Also, I have heard (unsubstantiated) rumours of one of the sensors on the No 1 injector swelling with biodiesel and getting expensive to fix on the L-Series. I know there are some forum members with the L-Series Freelander who may disagree. If you need any help or advice specifically related to the Freelander, just drop me a PM. Cheers,
