My main questions are about two-stroke oil. What rating does bio-diesel fit into concerning performance? I experimented with a version of bio-diesel using oleic oil, alcohol, and lye. I added some vinegar and tri-sodium phosphate to this. My conversions weren't very accurate but when added to my scooter although not consistent the power was substancially increased. What are some ingredients that I may add to make a higher powered two-stroke oil that will provide consistent power increase and above all reliability. Also I'm curious as to why citronella oil is not used in two-strokes and diesels to provide fumes to drive away mosquitos?

Thanks for the advice Nick. But, I'm really not that well versed on the subject. I know this is a bio-fuels forum. Maybe I should ask why I simply can't urinate in my oil tank since urea has explosive characteristics. Cheers!

Neat questions.

1 Two stroke oil and biodiesel are not similar. Two stroke oil is designed to be sticky and stay in the engine as long as possible to protect it. Biodiesel will not stay long in the engine, therefore providing little protection. The power increase could be because there is not more sticky oil slowing things down. My estimation would be you get a power increase, followed by a big bang, then silence...

Citronella oil may smell different when burnt in an internal combustion engine. If it didnt, then it would deter mozzies from freeways and roads. I personally cant think of a better place for mozzies however, right where they can meet a winsheild at about 100 k/hr.
