Hi, I'm a BioDiesel Rookie in the making

I have order a BioDiesel processor kit; Recently, I went to a friends house in the mountains to learn how to make it, (which I found easy) and used it for the very first time in my running empty diesel truck, I loved it !

Now, before I start producing BD, I have a few concerns on the BD waste and how I'm I going to handle them appropriately and how to reuse most of its bi-product.

I have a concern on: What to do with the water from washing the BD ?

What to do w/ all the Glycerin ? I know you can make soaps, etc. But how and w/ what do I separate the Methanol from the Glycerol ?

All suggestions and effective methods are well received

research "dry Washing" - removing the methanol so that the dissolved soaps and byproduct drop out of the biodiesel - no water used. Methanol, can be distilled from the biodiesel and byproduct using a simple still. Research "methanol distillation". Do you have a need for cheap heat? the byproduct can provide a cheap fuel source for simple burner applications.Have you considered using the oil in a 2 tank conversion to do away with the need to buy methanol and caustic, process it, recover the methanol and dispose of the byproduct. The unusable parts of the oil (solids filtered from the oil) can be composted. You can make a little bit of biodiesel for starting and shut down and use the vegetable oil when the engine is hot.
