Hmm probably a diesel question

Hi

How "practical" are short trips in a diesel ... ie 10 kms (15 / 20 mins) stop for the day then 10 kms home again ... I understand diesels love long runs, short runs are hard on the motor .. barely getting up to operating temperature etc etc.

Hi Prickle..

you are quite right diesels do like long runs, perhaps you can take it on a long run on weekends, the thing with diesels is that if they dont get up to opperating temp properly they tend to glaze the cylinder liners, it would be the same as letting it stand and idle,{idling produces high carbon build up}

Regards

Alan
