Massive Price Hike for KOH

Today I purchased a new 25 kg bag of KOH.

On 12/06/2007 it cost $63.20
Today 29/07/2007 the price has jumped to a massive $111.95

Just a few weeks ago a friend bought a bag and said the price was then around $73.

The KOH is ex China. The price hike is said to be caused by factory closures for the Olympics to cut smog, and so causing shortages and price hikes.

So either stock up now if your supplier hasn't been hit by the rise or hold off until after the Olympics have finished and everything returns to normal.

Will the price actually come back down again? Probably not.

Re: Massive Price Hike for KOH

I'm still getting it as of today, 25kg for $77. My supplier got on the phone to his supplier, they are not expecting any price rise.

Then again, my KOH comes from Jordan, if they can have all the conflict that they have in their region and still keep a low price, who gives a toss about China?

Gee, where are you getting it for 77 per bag, best i could find was 95 plus 30 freight. My closest suppliers were well over 150 per 25kg bag.

Central Coast, NSW.

Maybe I should be buying a pallet load and then on-selling it!

I imagine you can source an importer of KOH from Jordan operating in OZ anyway via google.
