Re: What's Cutting edge now?

As the owner of helton and a manufacturer in general, forums and the knoledge base that is built up is not just for the newcommer to biodiesel.
We talk of biodiesel and the methods and tools used but once not all that lond ago we all said, what if we had - what if we could.
As a manufacturer we can learn what is required and what people wish they had. long before i knew what biodeisel was people were buying my shower units to run there fuel thru it this was a bit strange to me at first.
I eagely await the results of tonys testing above on our biofuel heaters they have been a direct run on from the use of camp shower heat exchangers. this topic "cutting edge" this means new and at risk of spam we have two new products developd by the requests of people such as yourselves or custom requests that become so frequent that we should make a production unit. so we have made a very small he to go on the tank and heated fuel lines in any length to get rid of the "hih" , a common source of complaint with leaks and fittings screwed together and a perfect example of how i can learn from the learned members of this forum
cheers

Helton biofuel svo heat exchangers

Hello Tony and welcome to this great forums.

I am not sure which of your products Tony is testing. I have no doubt that the result will come positive.

I have installed your Helton twin coil HE in 6 cars and I owned two of these cars. See some photos

I had no dramas with the unit and I still recommend them.

If you still remember I contacted you about making them in different barb sizes.

In my opinion it is a great heat exchanger. gives good heating and better option when it comes to tight places too.

Thank you for joining the forums.

Re: What's Cutting edge now?

I would be interesing in trialling the helton unit in my biodiesel powered ute to see if filter life would be extended particularly in winter. What is everybodys thoughts on this??

Re: What's Cutting edge now?

Nick,

I reckon a twin coil unit - one coil before the filter and the other on the return line or before the IP can make a difference during winter time.

From expeience I think we needs them made in 5/8" and 3/4" for coolant barbs and 5/16" and 3/8" for fuel barbs to suit our cars.

I have not seen 1/2" heater hose in any of the cars I worked on.

I tend to think for this application the twin coil would be overkill. I would like to keep my talk 'cold' to avoid one element that can cause polymerisation so return line is out. i agree that one coil before filter would be good in winter to melt any 'snowflakes' away.
I think 5/8 is standard in all car i know of so that would be best IMO. my ute has 5/16 fuel but 3/8 could easily be adaped down.

How much are they?
