| What's Cutting edge now? All the time lately i am reading the same stuff over and over about the same things. The newbies keep going over the same old ground and i am noticing the people that know what they are doing are getting bored with the same things talked about over and over and hardly bother posting any of the good infamation they have. It seems all the people that know nothing get all the attention but there isn't much of interest to the people that have been doing things a while. The same old things with Collecting, filtering, making processors and biodiesel all is talked about over and over again but what is the latest developing methods? if you know what you are doing with the normal things, what else is there to learn or is new with veg oil fuels for the average person who does it at home? It used to be fun learning about this stuff but lately it is all the same and I'd like to know what is a new technology with this that is realistic that a person could experiment with and develop? Has anyone heard of some new and praktical thing that other people are doing with veg that has a benifit or is worthwhile doing? I hope my writing is up to the requirements of posting on this site after going over and over it but if anyone thinks my writing is like a 3rd grader maybe they could tell me at the next biodiesel picnic ( if this place lasts long enough to organize 1) and they could help me out by telling me where exactly they think i'm going wrong and we could have a chat about it to help me out and maybe we could educate each other on some things. |

Come to think of it, the last time I was Axel, and survay written (not axle or survey) it was from another staff member.... I know what you mean about "new"stuff. The first car I did some 6 years ago ran on solid lard, used gas solenoids I filtered it by shoveling the lard into a pot on a stove and pumping it quickly through a filter, which had a bypass filter in it, so when it got blocked I filled the car up with dirty oil. Of course also it was hard to work out what was happening without a vacuum guage on the car. I think the last "new" thing I heard was the shopping bag filters? I hope the forum stays long enough to enable a few more barbecues.

Someone must start the ball rolling. If no one takes the responsibility, no BBQ will occur. No good for me to organise one over East, I wouldn't be able to attend and benefit from my organising abilities. Regards, Tony |

| Re: What's Cutting edge now? Sounds like there needs to be a seperate forum for the special people. Got my pump the other day, advertised on ebay as "bronze" impellar. Only to find out that it was plastic when shining the torch inside for a gander. Thats new Dave. Anyone going up to Birdsville for the races? |
