BioDiesel Testing

Hi All, I see that there are 3671 people currently engaged in this forum. If we all put in $10 a year that would be $36,710 that could be used to sponsor a Technical College or Uni Engineering Department ( maybe in cahoots with each other) to do some Useful comparison testing of Biodiesel as opposed to Distilate. There by disproving all the crap relating to Biodiesel. The Fuel injection pump makers joint statement on Biodiesel has not changed in 8 years .....So they have obviously done nothing. All the manufacturers take advise from the Injector/pump manufacturers .....so nothing there. We end up with the 5% recommendation. Is there a retired forum member out there that has the time to get this organised. Government subsidies? A pair engines from the wreckers . Blueprinted by enthusiastic mechanical apprentices at a Tech college (free labor) & the sponsorship to pay for fuel & parts & tests etc. My wife is a scientist & points out that the 7 Dyno tests & 7 oil tests I have had done on the Cirtoen C4 from new to 56.000km ($700) mean ****, as there is nothing to compare these results to. It just makes me feel good to know that I was right & the fools that sell PSA engined cars don't have a clue.......No one else is doing anything.....Any interest out there? All donations to the Forum???????? Robert?????

Re: BioDiesel Testing

hate to be the bearer of bad news mate but 80% of bio/svo types are absolute tight arse penny pinching self serving types so i doubt you would get a cent out of more than ten people from here.
I'm jack of these types thus cant be bothered contributing much anymore. BTW loved reading your results on your oil analysis and your bio loving citroen. keep up the good work mate
cheers Nick.

Re: BioDiesel Testing

Why bother testing further....biodiesel is well proven. The problem in Australia is predudice and ignorance throughout the motor trades industry against all biofuels.
I always advise newcomers to biodiesel not to ask their local Mechanic for advice but to read US and European websites for information about biodiesel as they are so much more positive and unbiased about the facts.

Re: BioDiesel Testing

I'd suspect a rental place. Here is another thing, rent a diesel air compressor. Just put a regulator on it and let the air vent at a rate where the engine is always loaded. But, if you ruin the engine, you bought it it might cost $10,000 to replace.

But first, why test them, there are hundreds of tests already done and there is nothing different between any base oil used to make biodiesel.
