Vinegar in a wash

Hi all, i'm new to this forum, so am not sure if anything has been mentioned about using vinegar in a wash (Mike Pelly's method). I would like to know if anyone has tried this, and how successful is this method?
I have started making BD with some success, although I think I need to refine a few things in my process.
Thanks
Craig

Re: Vinegar in a wash

Hello Craig, welcome to the exciting world of biodiesel

Unfortunatly the biodiesel production information on the JTF site including Mike Pelly's method is out of date and contains inaccurate information.
Adding vinegar (acid) to the wash controls emulsions by turning soap back into FFA's. This is not desireable.

For the latest thoughts about home biodiesel production I suggest you visit the Collaborative Biodiesel Tutorial
