Settlement Time

G'day. Ive been experimenting with maiking bio fuels recently and was just wondering if there is any specific time i should let the mix settle for before i can seperate it for washing?
Or is it just when it looks settled?

Cheers Chris

whoflungdung is generally pretty helpful
Re: Settlement Time

I expect the standard response might be "the longer the better" - but obviously there is a point at which all the glyc has settled out and more settling time yeilds no benefit.

I find overnight setttling works fine for me. I have made batches with settling times as short as 5 hours - but it does make the washing process longer and you have to be careful with emulsions.
