    Passing of Frank Legge

    Frank Legge was a pioneer of biodiesel production in Australia and conducted many experiments relating to the processing of oils and fats into biodiesel, particularly the proportions required for high conversion biodiesel. Forum member Tilly often quoted the results of Frank's research.

    Frank passed away on Thursday, 20th October, after a long bout with skin cancer.

    Rest in Peace.
    Life is a journey, with problems to solve, lessons to learn, but most of all, experiences to enjoy.

    '90 Mazda Capella. (2000 - 2003) My first Fatmobile. Converted to fun on veggie oil with a 2 tank setup.
    '80 Mercedes 300D. 2 tank conversion [Sold]
    '84 Mercedes 300D. 1 tank, no conversion. Replaced engine with rebuilt OM617A turbodiesel engine. Finally had good power. Engine donor for W123 coupe. (body parted out and carcass sold for scrap.)

    '99 Mercedes W202 C250 Turbodiesel (my darling Wife's car)[sold]
    '98 Mercedes W202 C250 Turbodiesel (my car)[sold]

    '06 Musso sports Crew Cab Trayback - My hack (no air cond, no heater).

    Frank Legge was an Industrial Research Chemist (PhD) and went by the online name of Neutral.
    His initial research in "biodiesel" production was in the 70's during the first "energy crisis"

    Neutral was very active on the Infopop biodiesel forum in the early formative years of backyard biodiesel production and freely shared the results of the many experiments he performed which forms the basis of much of what we do today.

    Frank's Funeral will be held on Saturday 29th October 2016, at 10.30 am in the funeral home of Bowra & O’Dea, 1307 Albany Highway Cannington (corner of George Street). Perth Australia
