  1. Re: A couple of questions WVO mid north coast nsw

    Shipo,
I believe the MB100 van uses the OM662 engine.

  2. Re: What is Your Computer Download Speed

    Tilly,
I will do my research again, the research on which I based that statement is about 18 months old.

  3. Re: What is Your Computer Download Speed

Tilly, I think Alga was referring to the cost of services thru Telstra. They are usually up to twice the price of other ISP or phone companies for similar level of service. The ONLY advantage of...
  4. Re: A couple of questions WVO mid north coast nsw

    Sorry, my mistake.
If anything in the lift pump would need replacing they would be the valves (if leaking) or the spring (if weak).
The spring has the same load on it whether running diesel of WVO....
  5. Re: A couple of questions WVO mid north coast nsw

I am another Musso owner. I purchased it a week ago, but had not driven it much due to 5 dead GPs. The GPs arrived in this morning's mail, so I replaced all 5 GPs in my Musso today. Normally I would...

    Re: Is It a Coincidence?

    A coincidence - Highly unlikely!
Watch out after the "honeymoon period" is over.
Be prepared to front them again if it recurs.
  7. Re: Generator Exhaust Through a Steel Wall

You need to check the temperature in the container when you have the big run, so you know whether you need more ventilation. You do not want the battery room heating up as it will impact on the...
  8. Re: Generator Exhaust Through a Steel Wall

Case, You can attenuate sound from the engine by using sound absorbent materials, about 500mm from opposite the opening, parallel to the wall. eg a flat panel of ply, covered in carpet, will...
  9. Re: Pre Heating WVO before injector pump

I recommend that it is laid on its back (opposite side to the I/O ports, as shown in the ebay listing I linked), but the back could be on a slope from 0 to 90. That way, there would be minimal air...
  10. Re: Glycerol / glycerine / byproduct pre wash

Gsmiley, were you using KOH or NaOH for the reaction that provided the byproduct?
  11. Re: Generator Exhaust Through a Steel Wall

Cade, I suggest that using the radiator fan to blow the air thru the radiator and outside the container will work better than moving the radiator outside.
My justification is that the engine heat is...
  12. Re: Pre Heating WVO before injector pump

    Yendor,
My comment was in relation to your post where you wrote:
It was obviously aimed at the mechanic who was advising you to plumb the heat exchanger into the radiator. This is not where the...
  13. Re: Generator Exhaust Through a Steel Wall

OK, that unit does not lend itself to remote mounting of the radiator, so you will need additional ventilation. I believe that you will need a large fan to draw air into the container engine room...
  14. Re: Generator Exhaust Through a Steel Wall

I think that it would also be a good idea to also have a fan and vent to remove the engine heat from the container and provide fresh air for the engine to use. If using a water cooled generator, it...
  15. Re: Pre Heating WVO before injector pump

Several years ago, I compared flat plate heat exchangers with the Helton dual coil heat exchangers and found them to be much less efficient. I posted results on the forum but with photobucket now in...
  16. Re: Pre Heating WVO before injector pump

They are available on ebay. search for 'plate heat exchanger'
This one is cheap and looks to be big enough for your purposes. It has 1/2" hose barb connections so you will need to adapt to the size...
  17. Re: Pre Heating WVO before injector pump

No one who understands anything about automotive cooling systems would plumb the fuel heater to the radiator!
The heater circuit is where the water is hottest and hot soonest. The cabin heater is in...
  18. Re: Pre Heating WVO before injector pump

Why do you feel that the oil is not hot enough? Have you tested 90 oil going to the IP?
There are a variety of 12v fuel heaters available, from ones which wrap around the fuel filter to ones using...
  19. Sticky: Re: Veggie use in heavy haulage vehicles

My apologies, I inadvertently created a "Typo".
    It should have been "CRD"
I have edited my post to correct my Typo.

  20. Sticky: Veggie use in heavy haulage vehicles

I was asked about using veggie oil in heavy haulage vehicles.
    What follows is my response.
Please feel free to critique it.

I have no experience with cooking oil use in heavy haulage vehicles....

    Re: Winterizing Biodiesel

You will need to experiment with blends and your freezer to determine the blend that works best for the anticipated minimum temperatures.

    Re: FFA good or bad?

I do not test the Titration of oil I use in my car.

  25. Re: Car veggie oil art / advertising

    John,
Some people tend to hide the fact that their vehicle is veggie powered. Others get personalised number plates like mine "FATMOBILE" or a friend's "A2B 4FREE".
