Re: Musso Fuel Gauge stuck at 3/4 tank

Perhaps a change was made by the Koreans to overcome the correct situation that Mercedes designed , which prevented this item to be serviced without significant dismantling of the cooling system.

Re: Musso Fuel Gauge stuck at 3/4 tank

On my wife's C250 (OM605) I had to cut the bottom bolt off to remove it. I replaced it with a shorter bolt (probably the PO did this already on your Musso)
  3. Re: For Sale: W210 E300 Merc with OM606 engine

The issue with later OM 600 engine is that it is likely to have engine computer controls. They also have O-rings in fuel system which are not compatible with renewable fuels.
    If your engine is...

Cade, are you only taking the top 50% and leaving the rest for the "bullies and standover merchants"?

Re: Been away - what's changed?

Chev28, I have asked on another forum that I occasionally visit, whether any members have had coking issues when using WVO fuel blends.
I will report back on any comments I get.

Re: Been away - what's changed?

    Chev28
I do not have any supplemental heating in the Musso (or in the 300D Turbodiesel that was my last Mercedes.)
I have not heard of ring coking at all from people using blended fuels.
    That...

Re: Been away - what's changed?

My last 2 tank conversion was 10 years ago on a W123 300D. My wife's W124 300D ran a blend of 10% ULP, but used the fuel heater that is part of that vehicle's fuel system.
    My current vehicle (Musso...

Re: Been away - what's changed?

Yes, that has been known for many years that, providing you get a good mix, you can make quality biodiesel at temperatures of 25C and lower. It just takes time. Mixing for longer is likely to be...

    Re: Waste Oil Market Cornered?

Go to the small, out of the way, places. You may have better success in those locations.
Have you tried lunch bars, fish & chip shops, restaurants, delicatessens?
In WA we are in pretty good shape...

Re: Been away - what's changed?

    Chev,
    Welcome back.
Not much has changed, fewer of us posting. Tilly still is picky about unsubstantiated claims made by forum members. More people using WVO in blends rather then 2 tank or...

Re: Musso Fuel Gauge stuck at 3/4 tank

I agree with Tilly, You need to have mileage and litres of fuel used to make a meaningful comparison for fuel economy tests. Use the same route under the same conditions. You could use a container of...

    Tilly,
I don't need everything working but I do need a reliable fuel gauge.

Re: Musso Fuel Gauge stuck at 3/4 tank

Thanks. I have had issues with the Mercedes fuel sender, with veggie oil, but they just stopped working (open circuit), not got stuck.
The fact that the low fuel lamp is working indicates that the...

Re: Musso Fuel Gauge stuck at 3/4 tank

Yes, I found out the hard way about the central locking issue. Now if I get out of the car, unless I have the keys on me, I open the drivers window.
I have been reading on the Musso forums about the...

Musso Fuel Gauge stuck at 3/4 tank

I know a few of you have Musso Sports (LOL) 2.9 L turbodiesel vehicles.
The fuel gauge on mine had always been slow to change (I could go 100km before it got from empty to full after refueling), but...

Re: Problems with 1HDT on SVO

Mark, has the electrical side of things been checked to be working correctly? It could be a short circuit to a live wire could be the cause.
Easy test, disconnect the wire to the shut down solenoid...

Re: Problems with 1HDT on SVO

In a SI engine, oils will not combust properly. In a CI engine the atomised oil burns well.

Sorry, never had a big enough supply of it to test it out thoroughly.
As a combustible oil it will...

Re: Problems with 1HDT on SVO

By the same assumptions, you would expect used cooking oil to smoke badly, but no:
If the ATF/Used cooking oil is injected into the combustion chamber (or prechamber) through an injector that...

Re: Problems with 1HDT on SVO

If you have blowby, then it is very likely that you have gummed your rings and they are wearing the bores of every cylinder.
The diagnosis should be based on a compression test - to determine if you...
