It's getting that way that you don't have to think at all. Just get an app to do it all for you.

Re: Blending Diesel with Filtered Vegetable Oil?

There is a very simple reason your engine sounds different on WVO. It has nothing at all to do with lubricity of the fuel.
A simple test to prove it is when running on dino fill an oil can with ATF...

    Re: Generator question

Mate you might find the pump draws way more than you think when it starts. Plug it into the generator on it's own and run it through a few cycles. You may be surprised.

    I have a 6.5kVa inverter...

Re: how to clean dirty oil containers

It's a bit like the camping trick to clean your frying pan. Go down the waterhole/creek/beach, use sand as a scourer and rinse when done.

Blue metal with it's jagged edges will work much better...

Re: how to clean dirty oil containers

I would stay away from using diesel. It is vegi, so clean it much the same way as a well used greasy fry pan.
Some cheap dish washing detergent and some water, then shake the crap outa them.

    If...

Re: Reduced oil temperature in reactor ?

No worries David. I thought you meant litres, and not ml.

Had to get in before Tilly saw that LOL.

Re: Reduced oil temperature in reactor ?

Um that has gotta be a typo ..... correct?

Otherwise 130ml of methanol would hardly even wet 13kg of KOH, let alone dissolve it.
  8. Re: Aftermarket fuel filter & sediment / water trap assemblies

It is only B10 ... but that is a start.
  9. Re: Aftermarket fuel filter & sediment / water trap assemblies

After the diaphragm died in the OEM filter, I removed the unit. Got a small piece of angle iron and drilled that to fit the OEM holes on one side and the CAV filter along the other side I lost the...
  10. Re: Aftermarket fuel filter & sediment / water trap assemblies

I have that same filter. No way would I consider replacing the pump primer with the diaphragm type. In my experience all the diaphragm types are stuffed within 2 years of BD use.

Re: Adventurers in common rail repair

Sounds like you have almost solved the problem.
Interesting that the garages could not fix it. I guess it depends if they had any experience with Pugs.

    good luck.

Re: What is Your Computer Download Speed

    I usually use http://www.speedtest.net/

The advantage of this one is you can pick the server to which the test is conducted. If you appear to have slow speeds to a site in a certain country you...

Re: Making biodiesel while maximising PV usage

If your worried about how much power you will use cooking up a batch of biodiesel, why not buy a diesel generator and run it on biodiesel?

Then you will also have a backup for when there are...

Re: Bio Sludge in fuel tank

I always water wash. Bubbling the first few washes then with a paint stirrer the last few washes.
I have never had a problem with anything dropping out even when stored for a long time.

Re: Alternative IP pump priming methods

I went looking for pictures and most I found have diaphram primers. These last about 2 years before the biodiesel does it's job on the rubber.

My filter looks a little like this one.

    The...

Re: Alternative IP pump priming methods

I find that after doing a filter change there is no need to prime my system. Enough fuel remains in the IP to run the engine long enough to suck fuel up and fill the system.

Once on a trip, I ran...

    Re: 1hz injector pump rebuild

It looks to me that you are trying to convince yourself your injectors are stuffed.
    Picture this-
IP is sending an amount of fuel to each injector. It can go two places.
