    Re: washing with heat

    Cade,
Good to see you are back experimenting with your bio.
Even better to see that you have recognised some of the risks associated with this experiment.
What I would like to identify is the...
  2. Re: looking at converting my 2002 Landcruiser with 1HZ engine to WVO

    Perolin,
As you can see, there are different ways of achieving the same end. Some require more effort than others, some cost more, some less. some provide additional benefits (eg priming).
    The...
  3. Re: looking at converting my 2002 Landcruiser with 1HZ engine to WVO

    Paul,
You should consider installing a new fuel line in 12 mm pipe for the veggie oil. This will significantly reduce friction losses for the oil on its way to the new fuel filter. You should be...
  4. Re: looking at converting my 2002 Landcruiser with 1HZ engine to WVO

    The Cause:
Using veggie oil will kill off any 'diesel bug' in your fuel tank and the dead bug will go into the fuel filter (& strainer).
If it has got to the fuel filter (I think that it has) then...

Re: Bulk Methanol buy in Perth

Tilly, You may be being unkind to Mark who may not get the massive discounts available to your supplier.

    Re: IP Adjustments

I found that the procedure is in several sections of 1F3-44, but page 1F3-45 is the easiest to find (although it relates to using an electronic timing device), the bolt locations and adjustment nut...

    Re: IP Adjustments

Where are the injection setting instructions? I had a look and couldn't find them. I tried searching for text, but it looks like the pdf is of a scanned document.

    Re: Blending WVO with Biodiesel

Tilly, I use a prefilter specified for a Mercedes W123 300D. It is a Mann WK31/5 It has a 90 elbow built into it. They usually cost less the $10 each and can be back flushed, washed out using...

Tilly, Are you planning to test higher WVO blends?

    Re: IP Adjustments

That is one thing I need to act on. I will set some time aside to act on it now that you have written up the procedure.

    Re: IP Adjustments

Sounds good. My 2006 Musso performance improved markedly once I adjusted the Full load screw out one turn.
    I used the instructions at...
  14. Re: looking at converting my 2002 Landcruiser with 1HZ engine to WVO

    83 Patrol,
I was aware of the rotary IP but not of the Direct Injection.
The IP will handle a 10% blend without heating the fuel.
The main concern is that it is a DI engine and that shutdown on...
  15. Re: looking at converting my 2002 Landcruiser with 1HZ engine to WVO

That is not what 83 Patrol wrote.
I have only had indirect injection diesel engines with inline IP and they are fine on 10% start in Summer (more in Winter) so I cannot advise based on my experience...
  16. Re: looking at converting my 2002 Landcruiser with 1HZ engine to WVO

Mark, I have been using Blended WVO in a 1 tank system without heating or flushing the system for over 6 years with no impact on the engines of the cars I have had in that time.
    Try 10% ULP in your...
  17. Re: looking at converting my 2002 Landcruiser with 1HZ engine to WVO

    Paul,
The simplest, cheapest option is to run a blend of 10%ULP and 90% veggie oil.
This will happily run in your vehicle with no problems (once you get rid of the diesel bugs in the tanks)
    I...
  18. Re: Stock 92 hilux diesel heater suitable for heating SVO?

If it is anything like the ones Mercedes use in cold climates then it should do the job admirably.
Are you planning to use a 2 tank system with C/O valves?

You may wish to consider using a blend...
  19. Re: looking at converting my 2002 Landcruiser with 1HZ engine to WVO

    Paul, Welcome to the forum.
I recommend that you source the components yourself.
As you already have 2 tanks, you need to identify how they are configured. Is the return line switched so that...

Re: Musso Fuel Gauge stuck at 3/4 tank

Perhaps a change was made by the Koreans to overcome the correct situation that Mercedes designed , which prevented this item to be serviced without significant dismantling of the cooling system.

Re: Musso Fuel Gauge stuck at 3/4 tank

On my wife's C250 (OM605) I had to cut the bottom bolt off to remove it. I replaced it with a shorter bolt (probably the PO did this already on your Musso)
  25. Re: For Sale: W210 E300 Merc with OM606 engine

The issue with later OM 600 engine is that it is likely to have engine computer controls. They also have O-rings in fuel system which are not compatible with renewable fuels.
    If your engine is...
