    FREE: Drums, plumbing and pump

After many years of good use I'm scaling down my WVO setup so I've got a couple of storage drums, a 240V pump and various hoses, valves and connectors going begging if anyone wants them.

    Re: Selling SVO processing plant

I can vouch for this setup as I've seen it. It's all professionally welded with brackets and stands etc and makes filtering and drying very simple. It would be a real shame if there are no takers.

    Re: W124 300D: Zero conversion

Well, after all that it was the glow plugs. All 6 of them were bad! I reamed them and replaced them with new ones and now she starts on the first kick.

Thanks for your help and suggestions guys.

    Re: W124 300D: Zero conversion

No I haven't tried anything yet, except measuring the voltage on the GPs. How do I ream the holes?

If Tony sees this I'd be interested in his experience, as he has been running his W124 for about...

    Re: W124 300D: Zero conversion

Well guys here we are 2 years later and I'm beginning to have cold starting problems with my W124. I did the thermostat bypass but no other modifications, and been running it on a 50/50 blend...

Re: 200L Drum and Diesel Hand Pump

Socrates, if you haven't already bought that Ebay pump I would advise against it. I've bought some stuff from that seller (he is a few streets away from my place) and my mate bought one of those...

    Re: W124 300D: Zero conversion

Sorry to drag up an old thread, but I'm interested to hear other W124 owners experiences since buying one myself a few months ago.

I've been running it on a blend (~50/50) over the summer and it...

Re: Anyone used a 6 port pollak valve?

I have run genuine Pollacks for 2 years in 2 Mercedes 300Ds with no problems at all.

There were some fake Pollacks around that gave people problems but the genuine ones rarely fail.

    Still it's...

Re: New (cheap?) source for Flat plate HE?

That could unfortunately make them a non-starter. WVO and biodiesel react with aluminium and breaks it down. I seem to remember hearing this on the forums before, but the proof for me is when I...

Re: The "Lap" around Oz on WVO

Great to hear of your trip so far Phil. If there are no forum members where you are going you will probably find plenty of WVO from restaurants/chippies. On my trip to Alice in April I found the more...

    Re: W123 300D, 50:50 WVO/Diesel

I did mine cold. When I tested my good engine they were all around 380 psi. All cylinders should be pretty similar.

If you have one or two that are significantly lower then you may have stuck...

    Re: W123 300D, 50:50 WVO/Diesel

I would do that if you can. Low compression usually leads to an engine change, so it would be good for peace of mind before you buy it and get it converted.

    Here is the pre-filter, which...

    Re: W123 300D, 50:50 WVO/Diesel

You might be OK with 50/50 at this time of year but I would not recommend it at other times. You should go for a proper 2 tank conversion if you are going to use WVO or make your own biodiesel.

    I...

Re: Converting a Hot Water System

It's a fairly standard Appleseed processor made from a 160L HWS, which makes up to 120L batches. More...

    Re: Glycerine Spray Cart

    Nice job Westwinds!

I guess you must be removing the methanol first, as I use glycerin with the methanol still in it as a weed killer. Works great.

    Re: Car-4x4 recommendations?

If you are running biodiesel you don't have to be quite so fussy as if you are running WVO. I ran my common rail Jackaroo for 2 years on home made B100 with no problems.
