Smile Are Delicas OK to run on WCO & is there anyone in Melbourne who does conversions?

Hi,

I'm a new Forum member and I'm seriously looking at having my L400 Delica 2.8L Turbo Diesel converted to run on WCO (dual tank system). Does anyone know of Delicas that have already been converted and are they running OK? Are there any problems with running Delicas on WCO?

Also, is there anyone in Melbourne or Ballarat area who has done conversions and would convert for me if I decide to get my Delica converted? I have bought Marcus Deuchar's book but he doesn't do conversions for others.

Cheers, Frank (Delica98).

Shouldn't be any trouble running a Delica on WVO with a good quality conversions. There are all sorts of early and late model diesels, NA and turbo, direct and indirect injection running successfully on clean WVO. Have a look on this forum for examples.
Marcus does have a 'relationship' with an automotive engineer who does conversions and he may put you in touch. However we have a forum member in Melbourne who has had no success in getting someone in Melbourne to do a conversion on a bus and it appears that Fitian may be agreeing to go to Melbourne to help them out. If this comes to pass I guess it may be even more worthwhile for him to make the trip to do 2 vehilcles.
Expect some response from Fitian soon.

Thumbs up Re: Are Delicas OK to run on WCO & is there anyone in Melbourne who does conversions?

Thanks David & 98 Troopy,

That's very encouraging. I'll wait to hear from Fitian. I've noticed he's done a Triton - his photos and description are very interesting. It could work out very well if he does two conversions while in Melbourne.

Delica 98.
