Mixing Vege Oil varieties

I have just started gathering small qtys of vege oil from different sources. Is it ok to mix in cottonseed oil with canola (for example) or should I try to process these sources separately and run separately? Are there any combinations that should be avoided?

Over the coming months I'm planning to convert a '89 Hilux dualcab (2.8L)

Canola is good if you can find it......else use/mix whatever you can find. It just needs to be liquid at room temp and not solid in the drum.

Little or no fats/hydogenated oils are a big bonus too. Saves time, effort and disposal.

I have no idea what my oils are....and I think even the restaurants themselves change types , trying out this and that, based on the sales pitch given at the moment.

Mixing different types of oils will confuse the car and the engine won't be able to decide how fast it should go.

Re: Mixing Vege Oil varieties

Hi everyone,

Does anyone know much about rice bran oil? Any info would be handy as I just scored about 20 litres a week. I'm also on the trail of some canola wvo so the rice oil will become blended during settling/filtering if I manage to secure it.

thanks froggo
