Talking Finally done - twin tank installed

Well, after many setbacks its finally done and it works. I don't think that I have ever had so much trouble with anything as this conversion, the final hurdle was when one of the Omar valves didn't switch, I initially thought it was due to a stuffed valve but found it to be a loose connection.

Thanks to all for your input and instruction.

One thing though, has anyone noticed that their cars run hotter?.

Also I have been using this method of filtering and it seems to work a treat.

Does anyone think that there may be some draw backs??

Hi mdraicch,

well done, great to hear you have it sorted.
Sorry have not been able to get to Echuca yet as the troopy is off the road for a bit, to far to ride the pushbike.

The youtube stuff is a version of upflow settling. His version is cheap but it's a shortcut because he is not de-watering or testing his oil.

There are two types of water in wvo. Free water which will settle to the bottom of his drums given ample time to do so. Suspended water is another matter.

Suspended water can hold in suspension within the oil and doesn't settle out the same way as free water.

The question is how much water are you prepared to accept in your wvo. Diesel standard is about 500ppm. Wvo passes a HPT(hot pan test) with up to 1000ppm.

Have you done any HPT to determine if your filtered wvo is dry enought to use?

God bless, froggo.

Hi Froggo,

Whenever your ready, let me know and I'll meet you.

Yes, I forgot about the suspended water, I must do that hot pan test and see.

Thanks.
