Standpipe or other filter/dewatering system?

Hey Guys I am new to all this and want to be sure that I do everything the right way. I have a 93 f250 7.3 non turbo. I bought it already converted.

I have been planning on building a 2 barrel standpipe filter/ dewater setup. Using water heater elements and heating the first barrel to 180, letting it settle for a week. Then pumping into 2nd barrel. Heating that to about 90 and pumping through a filter. Sound ok so far??

Another issue I have is that I don't have a heated area to set up my stuff so I will be using an unheated shed. I have concerns about the oil being being to cool during the winter months to pump from #1 to #2 ??

If this is an issue are there any solutions? is there a better option for me as far as a setup without a heated area to work?

I really appreciate the input and help.

Thanks

Some oils are definitely worse than others. Mostly I don't know what my oil is but some identified as cottonseed was particularly solid at those temps.

Were the detailed answers you recieved last week on the other couple of forums you posted this question on not what you wanted to hear?

Those using or contemplating the use of Veg Fuels need to take the time to thoroughly educate themselves in the theroy and practice of how it works and what applies to their own personal Vehicle, situation and circumstances.

This knowledge should be tested personally wherever possible so one can gain a better working knowledge of what is true and what is not from the parroted mantras.

Only then will the ancient, out of date and totally incorrect theory's and ideals be removed from Veg Folk law and people be able to use veg to their best advantage.

Is there something wrong with posting on multiple forums? I am not trying to bother people but it just seems like the more I ask the more different answers I get but yet still a lack of answers about certain things.

I am just trying to make sure I do the right thing. If there are so many incorrect theories why are they not challenged by others when people ask questions?

I am really just trying to figure out the best method so I don't do anything wrong to my truck. I am sorry if me asking on multiple forums bothers you.

Does anyone else have any input about the unheated shed?

Re: Standpipe or other filter/dewatering system?

Depends on how your oil is collected to start with - tins or jerry cans. Keep it in the origianl containers and leave it to settle.

In winter take the liquid oil from the top and use it in your system.
Or... Build your system and use/make small batches in case in goes solid and you have to pump it out.

Learn as you go about your soy oil. Most members here use cottonseed oil.

sorry the headmaster is so busy typing his boring long signature to answer you.

Good luck
