    Remixing glycerine and bio cold

    Hi guys,

A quick question today. On Saturday night, I made a great batch of bio. Sunday morning, when the glycerine had settled out, I flicked the pump back on again and mixed it all back up.

Does anyone have any idea about whether the glycerine will settle out in the same way, or does re-mixing cold have negetive consequences?

    Cheers, Steve.

Would it not have been wiser to ask the question first and THEN try the experiment when you could confirm it would be OK?

I have mixed glycerin with oil and found it to lower the titration and it is also said to have other positive effects. You drain the glycerin before processing it into bio or using it on a straight conversion of course.

Can I get a better idea of this process:
    1. add glycerin to wvo
    2. mix thoroughly
    3. allow glycerene to settle out
    4. drain glycerin
    5. titrate oil and proceed to making BD

    That would be it George.

You may also like to do a before titration on your oil to see how much mixing it with the glycerin dropped it's titration number.

For those with an WVO system, I have read that this process also reduces the viscosity of the oil and raises its gel point.

I have treated some oil this way but have not checked either of these things in a before and after comparison.

That the answer I was looking for.

    Cheers, Steve.
