Mr.damage i think if you are using bio from the servo then VW will hold up on the warranty.
I think if the bio has a certificate or something that states it has passed all quality tests then it does not void warranty.
Id assume a servo would have to be able to provide something on the quality of the fuel supplied to them. Maybe documents given to them by their suppliers?

For fear of getting off topic, I looked at buying a VW for my missus a little while back and the VW australia 'official line' is that the warranty will not be honoured if the problem is found to be caused by the use of Bio diesel (regardless of ratio or place of manufacture/purchase). VW Australias line is that VW's of Australian delivery are not suitable for use on Biodiesel. Posts in other threads by other members in other states also tend to support my experience. Its all a crock because they will quite happily run on Bio, there are many members here that will testify to this. The Australian vehicles are manufactured in the same factory in South Africa that manufactures the European vehicles so I find it difficult to believe that they have different componentry in them.

Thats interesting. Im pretty sure they honour warranties in Germany and the rest of europe. It would be typical that we got the raw end of the deal in this.

    Re: Conservo

It is worth considering what VW Aust will do if the warranty claim is due to diesel fuel which caused injector failure (or other fault).

They will not honour their warranty for damage caused by bad fuel OF ANY TYPE!

Neither will any other vehicle manufacturer!

This is just a beat up against biodiesel.

inerestingly enough the local diesel mechanic has said there are problems caused by (fossil) diesel sold in this country causing damage to new cars systems due to its poor quality.

Somone I know has said they will not do warranty work on his nissian because it has been run on biodiesel (B50). They dont know whats faulty, they dont know the problem, they dont know what they need to replace, but they know how the problem was caused?

I have wondered if there is a market for "we help individual vs corporations" service. Involves a well dressed person asking questions ("what was the cause of the problem", "right now how would you fix it or dont you know")while 2 other guys stand on, one holding camera and another holding a microphone on a stick. Not my fault if they come across as being a news crew....

    Re: Conservo

If the car still runs, you could run a few tanks of dino diesel through it and not even bring up running it on biodiesel couldnt you.
Im sure if they really wanted to they could find traces of bio maybe, however with no definitive proof......
    Just some thoughts
