  • New Victorian Biodiesel plant.

Who knows about the new bio-desiel plant being construced in Barnawatha (It's the last town on the Victorian side before Albury/Wodonga).

This is not a small operation with millions of someones money invested. Looks like a mini Altona refinery. It's located next door to a operating rendering plant on Plemings rd.

Who knows any more about it?

    thanks

    Simon

    Re: New Victorian Biodiesel plant.

The plant is at Barnawartha and is being constructed by "Biodiesel Producers". It is slated to do 60ML per year of biodiesel from tallow and waste cooking oil.
It is due to start producing in June '07 and the construction will be complete in March.
They scored a grant from the Federal Government in the order of $9.6m, which would have helped get this thing built.
You'll find them listed in a spreadsheet I just posted in the industry section which shows Australian Commercial Biodiesel Producers.

There are a couple of news stories on it linked from Joe's Brisbane Biodiesel site.
