The best price I've found is on ebay: $6.00 each for 10 , plus postage.
eBay Australia: GENUINE CAV FILTERS 7111-296 - PACK OF 10 (item 110053174257, end time 07-Jan-07 14:05:41 AEDST)

Thanks george they are the ones i've been looking at i was hoping to get them a little cheaper some people have been getting them for $4 each in packs of 20 or 30 i just cant find the post where i read it anyway the problem with ebay is the postage costs which increases the price per filter
about 10-15 bucks delivery i was hoping just to walk into a shop and buy them off the shelf
      thanks captain

Thanks for the update. I've held off getting some replacements since you mentioned the possibility of cheaper prices.

                          Re: cav replacement filters

According to the data on the FleetGuard site the differance is in the dimentions.
                          FF167:-
                          End 1 ID 18.8 mm
                          End 2 ID 38 mm
                          End 1 OD 88 mm
                          End 2 OD 84 mm
                          Overall Height 72 mm
                          Additional info:- CAV (LUCAS-CAV)711296

                          FF167A:-
                          End 1 ID 19 mm
                          End 2 ID 17 mm
                          End 1 OD 88.5 mm
                          End 2 OD 84 mm
                          Overall Height 71 mm
Additional info:- Rolled Paper Version See FF167 for application.

So by that one could assume that theh FF167 is a direct replacment for the CAV element and the FF167A is a substitute for the FF167.

yes the internal diameter is the major difference, the other is one is pleated paper the other is rolled dont know if it makes any difference,as long as it fits.
