  • The US midwestern biodiesel market

(automatically updated/inserted from The Big Biofuels Blog)

The US Midwestern spot market for biodiesel is developing, according to a report on ICIS news.
(Disclosure: I work for ICIS: About ICIS)
The report, penned by ace biofuels reporter, Judith Taylor says
Spot prices in the Midwest were in a $3-3.10/gal range this week on an FOB (free on board) basis from local plants, according to global chemical market intelligence service ICIS pricing.
People like the market, apparently, because it enables them to store less on site.
Retail sources in Texas said the B100 is often purchased and then splash-blended on site with petroleum diesel into the most popular B5 (5% biodiesel) and B20 (20% biodiesel) blends.
