  • Websites on History of Australian BioFuel?

I'm investigating the history of Australia's biofuels industry, partly for university and partly for self-interest. Can anyone recommend good websites that will provide a little insight into when Australia's biofuel industry started, where Australia's biofuel industry is located and so forth?

You could try the BAA site, or try to contact them directly (good luck). If you do get any info, we'd all be grateful to hear/see it.

You could contact Paul Martin, who I believe was the first person on TV in Oz (July 2000 IIRC) showing biodiesel.
I may have been the first person on TV using Straight Vegetable Oil in IIRC 2001 or 2002.
Renew (ATA magazine) published articles in 2000 on biodiesel and SVO.
Philip Calais has been researching and using biodiesel since before 2000 (that was when I met him).
The WA Renewable Fuels Association was formed in Dec, 2000.

Please PM me for contact details for these persons.

      Regards,
      Tony

Thanks Tony - that's interesting background info. Is Paul Martin the man that started 'Grown Fuel'?

I have a phone contact for someone who was doing it about 1978, and probably before that. He started I think with a small ship, and ran it on all sorts of waste oil. I think his knowlede was more leftover from the war, rather than the recent intrest. PM me for his details.

I think that he is the one. He has a book on biodiesel which he sells. I believe that he works in the biofuels industry.
You could google his name to reveal more.
