I only ask the question whether Kudzu could be a cellulosic biofuel crop because I came across it on Corn is for Eatin (http://esrati.com/?p=807), a blog post by David Esrati (who is standing for Congress (http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=22527811840)). Kudzu (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kudzu) seems to have all the qualities that you need: it fixes nitrogen, grows about 30 cm/day and was declared a pest by the US DoAg in 1953. In other words it is a weed (http://www.icis.com/blogs/biofuels/archives/2008/05/nonfood-biofuel-speceis-are-in.html). It seems to cost money to remove.
