The US Renewable Fuel Association has come out strongly against Texas' request for a standstill in the amount of biofuel it consumes (http://renewablefuelsassociation.cmail1.com/e/444686/l/). The Association's point of view is pretty much that this is a federal mandate and so should be followed because the Texans haven't shown why, under the terms of the mandate, it should be ignored. The Association argues that Texas Cattle ranchers are behind the request (http://www.icis.com/blogs/biofuels/archives/2008/06/texas-cattle-ranchers-oppose-e.html) as well as big oil. Is it really that simple?
