  • Enzyme and organometals

hi, guys, Im brand new here, thanks for having me. I starting to get interested in making bio diesel production for personal use. The traditional method used wvo, with Potassium or sodium hydroxide and methanol. With a decently big setup. I make get one of these going, but as I researched I came across this: Enzymes or Organometallics. Found at: https://biodieselmagazine.com/articl...lternative-500

I was wondering if anyone is successfully using these at home to make biodiesel, or knew anything about them, thanks in advance for any response.

A major issue with this in small scale production, is sourcing Absolute Ethanol, getting a licence to buy it and dealing with the Excise people.

You could brew and distill Ethanol at home, using a "reflux still" to get 90+% Ethanol. (I do this often)
    Some detail is still needed:
How much Ethanol is need per litre of biodiesel?
Can the Ethanol be re-used in future batches?
Where can we get the catalyst?
