  • Can a 09 Triton run on biodiesel

    Hi All
I'm just trying to find out if my 09 Triton can run on biodiesel
An steps to start using it

While I have not made biodiesel for 15 years, preferring to use SVO .
From what I have read, Common Rail diesels should be happy running on well made biodiesel.
This would require high conversion biodiesel, as unconverted oil could cause injector blockages due to polymerisation of vegetable oil on the injector tips.

The above would apply to any Direct Injection diesel engine, including Common Rail Diesels.
Any indirect injection diesel engine (i.e. any engine with glow plugs) would be happy running on straight oil or biodiesel.

Using straight veggie oil or biodiesel will kill off diesel bug in the fuel system and dump it into the fuel filter over the first year of usage.
A few filter changes may be required.
