  • Biodeisel in the abc news -increase in interest because of Iran war.

Hello. I just joined after reading the article below. We have a 2003 Toyota Prado deisel. Do you think it could run on biofuel? Cooking oil? Straight and refined or a blend? Any info welcome.

I hope you find it interesting and useful. Terry Woodcroft was a Councillor at ColacOtway Shire in Victoria's South West. His contact info is available online.

If it has the 1KZ-TE engine is should be fine on biodiesel or a twin tank conversion to run on wvo.

      Welcome to the forum.
      Your question poses further questions.
What engine is in your car?
Ours has the 1kz-te engine for the 2004.
As ours has a long range tank and I was thinking about fuel choices, I'd most likely mix biodiesel with diesel. Maybe a B50 mix.
Otherwise, if it's indirect injection and you prefer veg oil I'd highly recommend a second fuel tank with a veg oil and diesel mix. But this would require some solinoids to switch and possibly a heater as I don't know where you live in regards to temps.
      You should do some research.
Also, where were you thinking of getting your veg oil from as I'd imagine competing with other users right now might be a bit iffy.
