Having come from a rural back ground and remember the cream seperator I googled centrifuge for bio. Seems they work a treat but the cost? One could spin one up if suitable parts could be found, like heavy old alloy pressure cookers of small and large. Think it would need about 3000 rpm in say a 200 mm pot. do any on this list use or know centrifuge ways of cleaning fuel? Tempted to buy one.

There is another active thread on here started recently about a US based mob that makes centrifuges - i have been in email contact with the owner and have to say he has been incredibly helpful answering questions etc.Originally posted by Grey Hair View PostHaving come from a rural back ground and remember the cream seperator I googled centrifuge for bio. There appears to be two ways to go with the centrifuges
1) Cheap -- basically by a bowl and rotor setup and then supply the pump, heater etc yourself
2) Buy an all in one unit that uses a motor to spin the bowl rather than relying oil pressure.
I personally like Option 2 better - but both options seem to work and work really well.
I know everyone who gets into the oil game starts out on the cheap, but next time i have some spare coin i know i will be investing in one - i like the thought of collecting my 200 litres of oil in the morning and having it processed and ready to put in my car by the evening.
